GUWAHATI, Feb 18 - The Guwahati Senior Citizens� Association will felicitate Gita Hatikakati, well-known composer, Dr Achyut Chandra Medhi and Syed Hasinur Rahman on February 20 at 10.30 am at Pensioners� Bhawan on the occasion of the 16th annual session of the Association.
Hatikakati will be felicitated on her being honoured with the Silpi award, while Dr Medhi and Syed Rahman will be felicitated for their distinguished services as pioneer office-bearers of the Association.
The meeting, to be presided over by senior journalist DN Chakravartty, will also discuss the unhealthy atmosphere prevailing in a few universities in the country with special reference to the anti-national activities in the JNU campus.
