Effigy of SEBA chairman burnt

TINSUKIA, March 4 - Decrying the irresponsibility on the part of the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) for which answer scripts of different subjects of this year�s High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination were destroyed in a fire in a school at Jorhat last night, several organisations namely, the Tinsukia units of the All Assam Students Union (AASU), Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP), Chatra Mukti Sangram Samiti (CMSS), etc., burnt the effigy of the SEBA chairman in different places here on Friday.

The protesters also demanded that actual culprits be punished and necessary action be taken for the future of the students. They also demanded suspension and arrest of the SEBA chairman for playing with the future of the students.

The AJYCP organised their protest programme in front of its GNB Road office, while the AASU staged the protest in front of their office near Tinsukia College. The KMSS protest was staged at Thana Chariali.
