IMPHAL, Oct 26 - Protesting against the Ukhrul incident, Manipur Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee burned effigies of the Prime Minister, Nagaland Chief Minister and NSCN (IM) general secretary here on Tuesday.
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) organised a protest rally during which effigies of PM Narendra Modi, Nagaland CM TR Zeliang and NSCN (IM) leader Th Muivah were burned at BT Road here.
�The Centre should declare NSCN (IM) a terrorist group. We condemn the attack on CM Ibobi in Ukhrul,� Manipur Pradesh Mahila Congress president Loitongbam Tilottama demanded at the Congress Bhawan here.
The Manipur Mahila Congress during the protest accused Modi and his government for giving a �free hand� to NSCN (IM) for �violating� the ceasefire ground rules and �indulging in nefarious activities� in Manipur.
Dimapur Correspondent adds: Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) today condemned the attempt on the life of Manipur Chief Minister in Ukhrul district of Manipur.
NPCC president K Therie, in a release, today said taking a life will only multiply the problems and will not solve any issue. �The Ceasefire should be complete and not partial. When we don�t have Ceasefire with our own people, there is no meaning in having Ceasefire. Every citizen should abide by total Ceasefire,� it maintained.
The NPCC further stated that the Congress believed that whatever differences may be there, those can be resolved through dialogue.
