Educationist Jatindra Nath Neog felicitated

DERGAON, March 17 - Noted teacher, retired education officer and social worker Jatindra Nath Neog was accorded warm felicitation here on Sunday.

It may be mentioned that he had completed the Master of Arts in Assamese literature from Dibrugarh University through distance mode last month at the age of 78. It is pertinent to mention that he had passed his BA, BSc and BT earlier. The programme organised under the aegis of career institute Proficient Career Counselling, Dergaon (PCCD) and Nature Organisation AASHRAY at Dergaon Jatiya Vidyalaya was attended by a large gathering comprising several educationists, scientists, administrators, bank professionals, social workers, journalists who all felicitated the educationist.

The meeting chaired by retired vice-principal of Bapuji College, Sarukhetry, Charuprasad Sarmah was moderated by the Director (Hon.) of PCCD Sanjoy Kr Hazarika. All the speakers highlighted the different aspects of the life and activities of the educationist and also revealed how they were inspired by his ideals.

Replying to the felicitation Neog opined that he was not in search of honour but the honour accorded to him will be act as a force for the remaining days of his life. He also opined that the teachers who taught him in school days were ideal teachers who inspired him to become a teacher in a later stage. He also acknowledged the support of Sanjoy Kr. Hazarika, the Director of Proficient Career Counselling, Dergaon in completing his MA degree at such an old age.
