Education system needs radical change

By Correspondent

BARPETA, June 18 - The education system in the State needs a radical change. Otherwise it will only produce handicapped youths who will not be able to deliver the purpose of education. This was the view expressed by Jakir Hussain Sikdar MLA Sarukshetri constituency.

Addressing a public meeting organised by Sarukshetri Block Youth Congress in association with Sarukshetri Block Congress Committee in Sarkshetri High School at Baniyakuchi to felicitate the meritorious students of the area, Sikdar lamented that the education system in the State has miserably failed in delivering the real purpose. Quoting his experience faced during the Gunotsava conducted in April this year, the young MLA said that some teachers have not performed their duties well and it has adversely affected the educational environment of the schools. He requested the teaching community to dedicate their service and at the same time to be vigilant so that the students can not adopt any unfair means.

Sikdar lauded the role of the government for its anti-corruption stand and warned the students that the system of employment through the backdoor is long gone and asked them to prepare for tough competitions ahead.

Popular artiste of the small screen Eyachin Akhtar urged the students who have not been able to achieve desired result in the examination not to loss heart and devote time to studies for a better future.

Addressing the open meeting held on this occasion, Principal of Sarthebari Higher Secondary School Hargobinda Sarma said that the HSLC and HSSLC examinations are just the beginning of life. They have to face a lot of competition in the process of achieving goals.
