EC team to review poll preparations in Meghalaya

SHILLONG, Dec 12 - A five-member Election Commission of India (ECI�s) team would be visiting the State on Wednesday to review the Assembly poll preparations scheduled to be held in February, 2018.

The team comprises Deputy Election Commissioner in-charge of Meghalaya and four other officials, will review various aspects, including poll expenditure monitoring, security, EVMs, VVPATs and other related issues, officials here said.

The team would hold review meetings with the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) of all the eleven districts of the State. They are also likely to hold meetings with the members of the political parties.

Later, the ECI team will also hold discussions with Chief Secretary, Y Tsering and also the Director General of Police, SB Singh.
