Easter observed in Meghalaya

SHILLONG, April 1 - Easter Sunday was today celebrated in Meghalaya with services held in Churches across the State.

Easter Sunday is observed to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. �Easter is a festival of hope and celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ and it inspires millions of people over the world to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice and forgiveness. On this occasion, I convey my wishes to the people of Meghalaya and wish them a holy Easter,� Governor Ganga Prasad said in his message.

Chief Minister Conrad Sangma in his message said: �On this blessed occasion of Easter, let us be thankful for all the blessings and rejoice that we are given a chance to experience all the abundance that life can give us all. May it usher in a new beginning of great prosperity, success and happiness. I wish everyone a Happy Easter and may the Lord bless all our homes with joy and unwavering faith.�
