TURA, Aug 12 - In the wake of the growing number of COVID-19 cases in East Khasi Hills and Ri-Bhoi districts, East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Swapnil Tembe has issued an advisory stipulating precautionary measures to contain the spread of the virus in the district.
According to the advisory, all persons returning from East Khasi Hills and Ri-Bhoi districts will have to undergo home isolation for seven days. It asked the returnees showing symptoms of COVID-19 to call the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) helpline number.
The persons returning after availing medical treatment in any hospital in Shillong will have to call the IDSP helpline and report to the Corona Care Centre in Williamnagar for testing followed by 14-day home quarantine.
The DC advised the people to avoid travelling to East Khasi Hills and Ri-Bhoi districts.
