Early Birds annual general meet held

By STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI, June 23 - The Early Birds, an organisation for Nature and wildlife preservation, held its 28th AGM today at a city school. The meeting deliberated upon the present critical condition, caused by encroachment, at the Amchang Wildife Sanctuary and the Manas Tiger Reserve, where one acre of land is being encroached every day. The Wildlife NGO Forum of Assam, of which Early Birds is a constituent, has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister on June 21 to take appropriate steps to save the Manas National Park.

The meeting also discussed various issues, including the attempt to transfer a few elephants to other states in a questionable way.
