e-North East Award to Nalbari dist administration

NALBARI, Dec 5 � The e-North-East Award 2011 instituted for the first time for the promotion of e-governance activities in the North eastern States by the North East Development Foundation has been conferred on 29 projects in different categories throughout the North-East.

One of this projects selected for this award is the e-governance system, termed as ARONAI implemented in Nalbari district administration since 2009. The system was designed, developed and implemented by F Ahmed, additional deputy commission of Nalbari with the help of two earlier Deputy Commissioners GD Tripathi and A Agnihotri.

The award was presented in a gala award ceremony held at Regional Institute of e-learning and Information Technology of Kohima in Nagaland on November 25. The award was presented to Ahmed by the Chief Secretary of Nagaland along with the secretary of Information Technology of Government of Nagaland.

The additional deputy commissioner Ahmed was conferred the award in the category of Innovative Department / PSU as special jury mention.

Earlier, Ahmed received the Good Governance Award, 2010 by the Bangalore-based international magazine Good Governance at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi which was presented by Union Minister of Railways Muniyappa.

It may be mentioned here that the district administration, Nalbari has witnessed a perceptible change in its style of functioning through this initiative making it transparent and efficient as compared to its past scenario.
