GUWAHATI, March 17 � The North East Development Foundation and Digital Empowerment Foundation, New Delhi, in collaboration with the Department of IT, Government of Assam and AMTRON will organise the 1st e-Assam Digital Innovation Summit on April 10 here, a press release stated. eAssam seeks to promote digital innovations and solutions in ICTs and mobile applications to impact social and develop-mental changes and connect the government and other development stakeholders with the innovators and solution providers. The summit will enable the innovators as well as stakeholders to share best practices, case studies and experiences in ICTs and mobile innovations by forming a �Consultative Forum� for replicating their ideas, vision and mission on the ground.
The main focus areas of the summit will be �Last Mile� Internet connectivity and access, citizen and public services delivery, education and learing, health, water and sanitation, environment, livelihood and enterprise, tourism, culture and heritage preservation.
Nominations and applications have been invited for the summit on innovative information communication technology (ICT) and digitally enabled applications and solutions that have helped or have the potential to cater to the development needs in Assam. Applications or solutions must cater to the needs of information dissemination, monitoring, tracking, reporting, interpersonal communication, training of frontline staff or workers and such other need-based areas. These ideas or applications can be web, mobile, social media or such other ICT/digital tool/application based. The selected nominees will be invited to present and share their best practices during the eAssam Digital Summit. The best practices or applications will be later felicitated and certified, the release added.
