Dynmo, NF Rly play goalless draw

By Sports reporter

GUWAHATI, July 30 Dynamo Club and NF Railway Sports Association shared points in their RG Baruah GSA Super Division Football League tie today at the Nehru Stadium here.

It was second encounter for both the teams. Earlier both won their respective matches and thus collected four points from two outings.

The standard of the high-profile match never rose to the expected height. Particularly the frontliners of both the teams were off coloured and disappointed their followers.

Dynamo team, studded with three foreign players, could not maintain their previous form today. Although Akil Baroi, Lalfakmawia and Onyebi Nandos Ogbonna tried to initiate moves from mid field they hardly could find their attackers, Abraham Goodluck in particular, inside the box.

Credit should be given to Railway defenders who performed a decent game and hardly left any open space in the danger zone. Experienced Janak Basumatary led the Railway defence perfectly to maintain balance. Their left back Kapil Kumar Daimary also stood like rock and never allowed the Dynamo strikers to cruise through. Railway midfielder Prasanta Bharali stole the show through out the course. He toiled hard and fed his strikers quite frequently. Railway attackers Jilendra Brahma, Duleswar Rabha and Bappa Biswas also tried heart out in search of goal but their effort did not pay any dividend.

At the fag end of the match Sanjay Bhuyan of Dynamo and Dipak Ghatowar of Railway were given marching order for showing muscle power.

Abutani win: In the A division match at second ground, Abutani Sports Club edged past Chandmari Sports Club by the barest of margin.

The all important goal of the match was netted by Manij Panging in the 29th minute.

Todays matches: (Super Div) AP Blues vs Sunrise; (A Div) Rajbari vs SAI SC.
