NALBARI, June 11 � The flood situation in Nalbari district on Wednesday turned critical as the Mora Pagladiya and Nona rivers breached their embankments at four places. The floodwaters submerged more than 100 villages so far, affecting thousands of people.
The Mora Pagladiya breached its embankment at three places at Gobradal and Lanka Chuburi on Tuesday night and inundated more than 90 villages. Floodwaters coming down from the Bhutan Hills through the Nona river also breached the dyke at Sonkuriha near Ghograpar. Ten villages have been submerged so far.
