GUWAHATI, June 11 - The tragic death of former State footballer Durlov Gogoi was condoled by the sports fraternity of Duliajan today.
Durlov, who represented the Assam U-16, U-19 and U-21 teams in national championships along with Oil India FC died in the Baghjan fire incident on June 9.
Former noted players including the likes of international footballer Swadhin Dekaraja, Santosh Trophy players Arun Borthakur, Ramesh Phukan, Dambaru Khanikar, Bhupen Gogoi, Jitu Chetry, among others paid tribute to the departed soul in a meeting held at the Nehru Maidan here and recalled his contribution towards State football.
Sportspersons of other disciplines were also present in the meeting, stated a release issued here.
