LUMDING, Oct 9 - Along with rest of the State, Durga Puja was celebrated at Lumding with gaiety. This year, a total of 52 community pujas were celebrated.
Among 52 pujas, mention may be made of the puja pandals and idols of Kalibari, Manasha Bari (South Hill Colony), Nadirpar Sitlabari (Harulongpher), pandal of Jagriti Sangha, idol of Uttar Lumding (North), Jana Kalyan Sangha, Brick-Field-Yubak Sangha, idol of Thakur Bari Road, Lumding Bazar, Ram Krishna Mission, Children Park etc.
It may be mentioned that the idol of Goddess Durga of Uttar Lumding, Kalibari and JKS attracted many people. Moreover, most of the pandals were decorated with electric lights.
Elaborate security arrangements were made by Lumding PS under the leadership of Mina Kant Dutta, OC, in association with the Peace & Immersion Committee Lumding to ensure peaceful celebration of Durga Puja. The Puja and the Immersion Ceremony of Devi Durga was celebrated peacefully.
