TEZPUR, Aug 30 - In a major operation conducted by DFO, Sonitpur, altogether six dumpers were seized from the Balipara area yesterday, which were used in carrying illegal sand and boulders from various places under the Chardwar Forest Range.
The DFO also seized an excavator that was used for illegal mining at the Nigam area near Bhalukpung under the same range. The DFO has issued a suspension order against Nila Das, the beat officer of the Bhalukpung Beat, with an immediate effect and also ordered an inquiry against the ranger Gaurisankar Bhuyan.
