Duliajan girl bags 8th rank in Arts stream

DULIAJAN, June 25 - Afreen Islam from Duliajan has secured 8th position in the Arts stream of the higher secondary examination, the results of which were declared today.

Appearing from St Xavier�s Higher Secondary School, Duliajan, Afreen secured 468 marks out of 500 with letter marks in English, Alternative English, Economics, Logic and Philosophy, Political Science and Sociology.

The Principal of St Xavier�s Higher Secondary School, Father Paulus Kullu, expressed his satisfaction over the result of Afreen and attributed it to the efforts and sincerity of the teachers and cooperation from the parents in imparting quality education to the students.

Afreen is the daughter of a retired employee of gas management services department of Oil India Limited, Bakbul Islam and homemaker mother Parveen Islam.

Afreen has attributed her success to her family and teachers of St Xavier�s Higher Secondary School. She expressed her desire to become an administrative officer in the future.

Afreen is planning to pursue her degree course in Economics as a major subject.
