DIBRUGARH, June 29 - Jyotiskar Hazarika, who is a fourth semester student of the Department of Applied Geology at Dibrugarh University here has been selected for admission to the prestigious Bhaba Atomic Research Centre (BARC) for a one-year specialised training programme.
He will be joining the BARC course after completing his post-graduation.
Jyotiskar is from Golaghat and is a boarding student at the Dibrugarh University. His teachers describe him as a very bright student. Jyotiskar himself wants to be a scientist. Till the graduation level, Jyotiskar did his education in the Assamese medium, which proves once again that convent, or English medium education is not at all necessary to achieve goals in life.
The Dibrugarh University community is obviously rejoicing at the prospect of one of its student getting into BARC for higher scientific pursuit.
