DU scholars awarded Overseas Post Doctoral Fellowship

DIBRUGARH, Sept 5 - The Science and Engineering Research Board of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, has announced the award of its Overseas Post Doctoral Fellowship for the year 2016-2017.

The candidates were selected on the basis of their academic credentials, merit of the proposed research work and the credentials of the institutes abroad where they are proposing to carry out their post doctoral research.

This year 50 candidates have been awarded this highly competitive and prestigious fellowship. Dr Rumajyoti Hazarika of the Centre for Atmospheric Studies and Dr Tridip Ranjan Chetia of the Department of Chemistry of Dibrugarh University have been awarded the Overseas Post Doctoral Fellowship. They will be carrying out their research in the University of Edinburgh and the University of Newcastle, UK respectively.

Two students from the Mizoram Institute of Technology and the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati have also been awarded the Post Doctoral Fellowship this year, a release stated.
