DU, JEC sign MoU for academic collaboration

DIBRUGARH, July 16 - The Dibrugarh University, which has been offering undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses in Engineering through its Institute of Engineering and Technology (DUIET) since 2009, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Jorhat Engineering College for academic collaboration between the two institutions of higher learning and research in the field of Engineering and Technology.

The MoU was formally signed in a meeting organised at Chintan, the Conference Hall of the Registry, Dibrugarh University, by Professor Mrinalendra N Dutta, Registrar, DU and Professor Reeta Sarmah, principal, JEC.

Professor Alak Kumar Buragohain, Vice Chancellor of the Dibrugarh University, expressed the hope that the MoU would facilitate synergy between the two institutions with regard to continuous teachers� training, teaching and research at DUIET with the help of the experienced teachers of the JEC. On the other hand, the students of the JEC will also have the benefit of using the facilities available at DUIET, he said.

Professor Reeta Sarmah, principal of the JEC, and Professor Rupam Baruah of the JEC said that the academic collaboration would open up avenues for more innovative ideas among young students and faculty members of both the institutes.

The meeting was attended by Prof LK Nath, Dr Mukul Chandra Bora, Associate Dean, School of Science and Engineering, faculty members of both DUIET and the JEC besides all important officers of the University.
