GUWAHATI, April 12 - Dr Nazibuddin Ahmed, Professor, Department of Mathematics, Gauhati University, has been awarded the Degree of Doctor of Science (DSc) by Gauhati University for his research work in the field of �Heat and Mass Transfer in Hydromagnetic flows�. It may be mentioned here that Dr Ahmed was awarded the PhD degree by Gauhati University in 1991 for his research work in the field of �Magneto-Fluid Dynamics�. Till date, 16 research scholars have obtained their PhD degrees under the supervision of Professor Ahmed. In addition, Professor Ahmed has to his credit more than 130 research papers published in various journals of both national and international repute.
Prior to joining Gauhati University, he had served as faculty in the Department of Mathematics, Cotton College for more than 20 years.
Prof Ahmed is the third son of Late Alhaj Baharuddin Ahmed and Late Jahuran Begum of Balazuptuli under Rangiya subdivision.
