SILCHAR, March 18 - Realising the importance of present scenario of health emergency across the country on account of the threat posed by coronavirus and measures taken by the government, the District Sports Association Silchar, alike other organisations have postponed all scheduled sports events till March 29.�
Babul Hore, president of the association informed the media that all kinds of sports events including coaching and training at cricket, badminton and table tennis academies have been suspended.�
Bijendra Prasad Singh, general secretary of the sports body informed that Rakesh Ranjan Deb Memorial Inter Club Knockout Volleyball Tournament scheduled to start from March 18 has been postponed as well.�
Meanwhile, the association has started a campaign to disseminate information to the masses regarding the players welfare fund formed recently.
