Drugs worth Rs 7 crore seized, 35 smugglers held: BSF

SILCHAR, Sept 15 - The Border Security Force (BSF), which patrols the 471.62-km Indo-Bangladesh boundary, has said that contraband items worth more than Rs 7 crore have been seized and 35 smugglers apprehended so far in 2018.

In a release issued to the media, the BSF said the smugglers include seven Bangladeshi nationals. It said it was keeping close vigil on the nexus between Indian and Bangladeshi smugglers, and also focusing on anti-Naxal operations, NRC duties, and election duties.
