AIZAWL, May 6 - A joint team of Mizoram Police and Young Mizo Association seized a huge quantity of heroin and methamphetamine from the residence of one Lalchungnunga (32) at Zokhawthar in Champhai district near Myanmar border today.
Police sources said they recovered 24 hawngs (one hawng is equal to 15 grams) heroin, 9,000 methamphetamine tablets and about 1 kg of methamphetamine powder.
The value of the seized drugs is estimated to be Rs 10 lakh. The accused has been booked and forwarded to judicial custody.
