JORHAT, April 6 - As per State government�s directive to carry out drives against sale of gamosa and similar products made outside Assam, a drive was carried out by the Jorhat district administration in shops within the town area today. A total of 224 pieces of chadar mekhelas, rihas and gamosas produced outside the State were seized in the drive.
The team that carried out the drive was led by Executive Magistrate Papori Das. She said that the drive by the administration was in addition to drives undertaken by the Handloom department.�
