Drinking water facility, parking lot set up at Kaziranga

KAZIRANGA, Oct 4 - On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Numaligargh Refinery Ltd under its CSR initiative set up a pure drinking water facility and a parking spot under the park and ride programme in the western range of Bagori of the Kaziranga National Park.

The water treatment plant cum drinking water facility was inaugurated by Numaligargh Refinery Ltd managing director SK Baruah in presence of Director (Technical) Bhaskar Phukan, Kaziranga DFO Rohini Saikia, members of the Jeep Safari Association and different other stakeholders of the park.

Speaking to mediapersons, Baruah said this safe and pure drinking water facility set up in the Bagori range under the initiative of NRL would definitely help the tourists visiting the park. But the maintenance of this drinking water facility should be done properly. He said three cleaning machines have been installed to clean up the impurities in the water.

Baruah said if any forest staff or forest personnel die either due to accident or any other reasons, NRL would offer Rs 2 lakh as assistance to the family of the victim.

He added that in future also NRL would extend logistical support to the Kaziranga National Park authorities.

NRL has been doing social services in and around the national park under its CSR initiative from time to time.

The students of Little Flower School performed some cultural items on the occasion held at Bagori.

According to NRL, this community drinking water plant has a capacity of purifying 500 litres of water per hour. It is a customised plant which has been installed by Eureka Forbes under the NRL�s CSR initiative.

Meanwhile, the new parking area was opened to public by Jeep Safari Association president Tulsi Bordoloi at Bagori.
