GUWAHATI, March 12 - The National Institute for Civil Services Examination (NICSE) organised this year�s edition of �Dreamathon�North East 2019�, at Vivekananda Kendra, Uzanbazar here on March 10, stated a press release.
Dreamathon is an exclusive workshop organised by NICSE every year for civil service aspirants. Through Dreamathon, NICSE aims to motivate the region�s youths and offers them a chance to directly interact with bureaucrats and experts who can guide them with all the necessary strategies and tools to systematically approach the examination in an efficient way.
The three-hour programme saw the presence of over 100 participants who came from various colleges of the city. The guest of honour of the programme was Vinod Seshan, the third rank holder of UPSC CCE- 2007. He is currently serving as the State Project Director of ARIAS Society.
The event began with the lamp lighting ceremony, followed by a speech by Seshan. He shared his insight on why students should choose civil services today and how it can help them make a positive change in society. He also spoke about the techniques of preparation and laid stress on perseverance. He said, �UPSC tests candidates� patience and this makes the UPSC examination unique.� The enthusiastic queries that were put forward by the participants were a clear demonstration of the interest students have towards civil services in the State.
Roshinul Alom, a guest faculty at Vision IAS and NICSE, focused on the answer-writing techniques for the UPSC Mains examination. He shared many important tips regarding the exam and explained how newspaper contents need to be filtered and studied, keeping the examination in mind.
Another ex-faculty of Vision IAS Ankur Rai, who recently joined NICSE as faculty of polity, also took a session on the strategies and techniques to clear the UPSC prelims. While answering the query of the participants as to why engineering and medical students make it easily to the merit list instead of students studying humanities, Rai said, �The difference is in their approach and how answers are framed in a crisp and practical manner, not in intelligence.�
