MANGALDAI, Oct 15 - In view of the schedule announced by Election Commission of India, the Electoral Registration Officers (ERO) of 65-Kalaigaon, 66-Sipajhar, 67-Mangaldai (SC) and 68-Dalgaon LACs on Friday published the draft photo electoral rolls at all the 491 designated locations of their respective jurisdiction under Election District Darrang for the public. The draft electoral roll thus published has recorded a total of 7,05,577 electors covering the said four assembly segments in comparison to that of 7,09,481 electors recorded in the final roll as per qualified date on 1st January, 2016. However the figure of �D� voter as per the final and draft rolls has remained the same at 5042.
Along with the publication of the draft photo electoral rolls, 2017, the process of special summary roll revision for filing of claims and objections with respect to 1st January, 2107 as the qualifying date has also begun in the district. In connection with this, a ceremonial public function was organised here at district library auditorium in presence of representatives of different political parties, local leading citizens, BLOs, students from higher secondary standard, Election Officer, Mangaldai, EROs and other senior officials of the district administration among others.
Addressing the public gathering on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner, Darrang, Ashok Kr Barman hoped that not a single citizen in the district who has already attained 18 years of age and going to attain this age by 1st January, 2017 will be left out from the proposed final electoral roll and urged the students present to play a pivotal role in this regard.
Goalpara: The draft photo electoral rolls for special summary revision, 2017 was published on Friday in all the 788 polling stations of the four Assembly constituencies namely 36 Dudhnoi (ST), 37 Goalpara East, 38 Goalpara West and 39 Jaleswar of Goalpara district.
The total number of voters as per the draft photo electoral rolls, 2017 is 671576 out of which 338081 are males constituting 50.35% while 333445 are females (49.65%). The detailed break-up constituency wise are as follows: 36 Dudhnoi LAC with 143 PS (males : 91218, females: 91287, total: 182505); 37 Goalpara East LAC having 99895 males and 101789 females (total: 201684); 38 Goalpara West LAC with 178 PS, 74651 males and 71087 females (total 145738); 39 Jaleswar LAC with 166 polling stations having 72317 males and 69282 females (total 141599).
Bongaigaon: Bongaigaon district election department on Friday released the draft photo electoral rolls of 32-Bongaigaon assembly constituency for its revision.
Citizens are called to contact their respective polling stations with their claims and objections relating to electoral rolls. The process would continue till November 15.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday afternoon at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner�s office, Electoral Registration Officer, Nitya Binod Warie told media persons that separate forms have been issued in all polling stations to receive claims and objections from the voters.
The final revised electoral rolls would be published on January 20 next year after passing through six routine stages.
At present in the 32-Bongaigaon Assembly constituency the total number of voters is 157353. The number of D-voters is 450 and total number of polling station is 222.
DHUBRI: The district administration on the direction from Election Commission of India started the process of summary revision of electoral rolls on Friday.
The revision however started by publishing a draft of the existing photo electoral rolls inviting claims and objections from public as there will be no provision for house-to-house enumeration.
The Election officer, Dhubri, Bistirna Barua while addressing a press conference informed that the period for filling of claims and objections will end on November 15, disposal of these will be made by December 15. He also informed that up-gradation of the database will be made by January and the final publication will be made January 20, 2017.
