GUWAHATI, Nov 14 � Election officers appointed by the Guwahati Mahanagar Zila Sahitya Sabha on November 12 have declared Dr Parag Kumar Bhattacharya as president of the Kamrup Mahanagar Zila Sahitya Sabha.
Dr Bhattacharya who was supported by 35 Sakha Sahitya Sabhas is an author with over 50 books to his credit. A poet, short-story writer, novelist and essayist, several of his books are prescribed by universities as reference book.
The election officers also declared Sabita Devi, author, as vice president of Kamrup Mahanagar Zila Sahitya Sabha. She was supported by 25 Sakha Sahitya Sabhas. She has seven books to her credit.
