Dr Manik Ch Dutta posthumously honoured

GUWAHATI, Dec 1 - In an exclusive organised programme during the recently concluded Raas festival in Majuli, Late Dr Manik Ch Dutta, a renewed Ayurvedic Physician and retired professor, Govt Ayurvedic College was honoured posthusmouly by the Jagatguru Srimanta Sankardev Kala Kristi Sangha, Natun Kamalabari Satra, Majuli in recognition of the dedicated selfless service rendered by him during the crucial time of flood, erosion etc, a press release stated.

Commemorating the services rendered by Dr Dutta, a citation along with a sarai and a phulam gamosa was handed by Purnanda Kalita, president of the Sangha to his son Bhrigu Kr Dutta in a brief programme organised specially by the Raas Committee on the eve of Raas celebration on November 27 in the presence of a gathering of more than 600 people from various parts of Assam. In his remarks, Kalita highly acclaimed the sincere health care services rendered by Dr Dutta in addition to his routine official responsibility.

Earlier, Janardan Bhuyan Borbayan, secretary of the celebration committee narrated the details of extraordinary services rendered by Late Dutta, especially in the remote areas of Majuli in the 1980s.
