GUWAHATI, Feb 12 - Eminent poet, litterateur, composer, lyricist and singer Dr Lakshahira Das will turn 85 tomorrow. A renowned educationist and author of many books on Education, both in Assamese and English, she has also represented Assam in various international fora.
Starting her singing career at the age of seven, she has rendered her voice for several Assamese films, gramophone records and CDs.
A recipient of the �Gana-Silpi� award bestowed in the name of Dr Bhupen Hazarika, she has also received a number of life-time achievement awards from a number of cultural and literary organisations during the last 30 years.
