Dr KC Borooah oration held

GUWAHATI, Nov 18 � The Dr KC Borooah Foundation Day Oration was held at the Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute here on Wednesday, a press release stated.

The oration was delivered by Dr Joseph Wee, deputy director, National Cancer Centre, Singapore on �Management of Nasopharyngeal Cancer � Current Standards and Future Development�. In his enlightening talk, Dr Wee shed lights on various methods of research conducted in Hongkong and Singapore on improving treatment of nasopharyngeal cancer.

Earlier, the Director of the institute, Dr AC Kotoky dwelt on the contribution of Dr Kanak Chandra Borooah in building up the Institute.

Dr NN Dutta, chief guest of the function, spoke about his long association with Dr Borooah. Surajit Borooah, the president of the board of trustees said that the B Borooah Cancer Institute has now earned the reputation of becoming an important centre for cancer treatment.

He also lauded the efforts of the Dr Kotoky for making contacts with international centres for cancer treatment.

Dr Brigitte Slangen from Maastricht University Medical Centre of Netherland, was also present in the function.
