Dr Kalpana Baruah in WHO�s Vector Control Advisory Group

JALUKBARI, April 17 - Dr Kalpana Baruah, currently working as Joint Director at the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi, has been nominated by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as a member of its Vector Control Advisory Group.

Dr Baruah is one of 11 global subject experts in this group and the only Indian. An alumnus of Gauhati University, she is the head of Dengue and Chikungunya Control Programme in India and is responsible for policy development, programme implementation, technical guidance to state health authorities, liaising with national and international stakeholders, etc.
