GUWAHATI, March 1 � Eminent artist and music composer Bhupen Hazarika was discharged from hospital here today following improvement in his health, reports PTI.
As there was considerable improvement in his health the 85-year-old music maestro was discharged, hospital officials said.
His blood pressure, pulse rate and other health parameters were normal, they said, adding Hazarika�s health was now stable and showing satisfactory improvements requiring no further stay in hospital.
On his release, the �Assam Ratna� told journalists, �I am fit, I will do more work�.
Besides his family members, Hazarika�s partner and film-maker Kalpana Lazmi was with him when he was discharged from the hospital.
Dadasaheb Phalke awardee was admitted to the hospital here on Thursday after he had complained of respiratory problems.
A series of medical tests were conducted on him and Hazarika was under observation with his condition monitored by a team of cardiologists, critical specialists and other physicians, they said.
