NEW DELHI, March 22 � Noted composer, singer and author Dr Bhupen Hazarika was posthumously honoured with Padma Vibhushan Award. His son Tez Hazarika received the award at the Civil Investiture Ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here this afternoon.
Late Dr Bhupen Hazarika�s son flew down from US to receive the Award on behalf of the family. Dressed in traditional kurta and pajamas, Hazarika received the award from President Pratibha Devisingh Patil. In the audience was Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh his Cabinet colleagues, chairperson of UPA, Sonia Gandhi.
