Dr Bora conferred �Katha Ratna� title

NAGAON, Aug 14 � Arunudoi Sahitya Chora, a noted literary organization of Nagaon conferred the �Katha Ratna� title to well-known writer, former president of Asam Sahitya Sabha Dr Lakshmi Nandan Bora in a function held today.

He came to Nagaon to release a book Bibidh Barnali written by Dadhimuhan Bora.

In his address, Dr Bora thanked the Sahitya Chora to confer such a title on him. He has won most of the prestigious literary prizes of Assam and of all India level but for the first time, an organization conferred a title on him. Dr Bora promised to utilize his time in writing more.

Releasing the book, he praised the writer Dadhimuhan Bora. He observed that now the taste of readers has changed and �we should not neglect this side also�.

Short story writer Bhadreswar Rajkhowa chaired the function and secretary Dr Sadananda Payeng explained the significance of the function.

Upendra Barkataki presented a critical revew of the book and writer Sumanta Chaliha also present as honourable guest. The programme started with a Bargeet presented by Gayatri Kakati Bara.
