JORHAT,Oct 31 - Eminent agricultural scientist, educationist and researcher Dr Badan Chandra Borthakur breathed his last at a hospital here today due to respiratory disease. He was 85.
Besides being an eminent researcher in agricultural science, he was an able administrator who was in charge of the dignified position of Vice Chancellor of Assam Agricultural University (AAU).
Expressing sorrow over the death of Dr Borthakur, the Vice Chancellor of AAU Dr Kamal Malla Bujarbaruah said that his death is an irreparable loss to the field of agricultural research and development.
�I have deep admiration for his personality. He was an outstanding teacher and researcher of agricultural science. His death is an irreparable loss for us,� said Dr Bujarbaruah.
