Dr Amaresh Dutta felicitated by AIR

DIBRUGARH, Sept 23 - �One should not choose the teaching profession just for earning a living. Teachers should have the urge to serve the society. The position of a real teaching professional is very high and it is his or her own responsibility to reach that zenith,� observed eminent educationist Professor Emeritus Dr Amaresh Dutta on being felicitated by All India Radio (AIR), Dibrugarh.

Personnel from All India Radio Dibrugarh on Thursday felicitated Professor Amaresh Dutta at his Naliapool residence with a traditional phulam gamosa, eri sador and a bouquet in sync with the golden jubilee year celebration by All India Radio, Dibrugarh. It is worth mentioning that Dr Dutta is on the threshold of stepping into his 100th year. Prof Dutta was greeted by the AIR staff for his remarkable contribution towards literature and for his 100th birth anniversary. The citation offered to Prof Dutta by AIR was read out in front of him by the Head of Programme Lohit Deka.

It may be mentioned that the programmes broadcast by the radio station in this golden jubilee year are gaining immense popularity. As informed by the Head of Programme, the premier station has broadcast nearly 400 interviews of eminent personalities of Assam till date. These interview programmes have depicted a clear picture of the socio-cultural richness of Assam as well as neighbouring Arunachal Pradesh, a release mentioned.
