DPS Guwahati clinches title in NE quiz

GUWAHATI, Oct 2 - Delhi Public School Guwahati represented by Adhiraj Kar (Class IX) and Navaneel Chakraborty (Class X), clinched the title in IndiQA 2020, an online quiz contest for school students of NE conducted recently by Viraasat Knowledge to commemorate the culmination of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, said a press release issued here today. The theme of the quiz was �India: Its Culture and History�.

As many as 200 teams representing around 60 schools from all over the north-eastern region took part in the contest which was conducted by quiz masters Akshay Seal and Dharmaraj Joshi and streamed on Facebook and YouTube.

The top 32 teams selected from the preliminary round faced eight quarterfinals, 16 teams from the quarterfinals locked horns in four semifinals, and ultimately four teams sweated it out in the final.

The Maharishi Vidya Mandir-IV, Guwahati team represented by Abhilash Sharma and Anurag Bhattacharjya were the runners-up. Netaji Vidyapeeth Rly HS Guwahati, represented by Sayan Acharjee and Sujay Das and Shiksha Valley School Dibrugarh, represented by Sarthak Agarwal and Debopallav Das were the other finalists.

The winners were awarded cash, trophies and citations, the press release added.
