DPRs of 7 NE power projects with CEA

NEW DELHI, Aug 29 � The Central Electricity Authority has received the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of seven hydropower projects which will generate 3,760 MW of power. Five projects are in Arunachal and one each in Mizoram and Sikkim.

Of the projects three are in Central sector and four in private sector. The projects in Arunachal include Nafra, Nyamjang Chhu, Tawang I and II among others.

Meanwhile, in reply to a question by Bhubaneswar Kalita, Minister of State for Power, K C Venugopal, said that three hydro-power projects of 25 MW and above are under construction in Arunachal Pradesh in Central sector under the Ministry of Power. However, there are no Central sector hydroelectric projects under implementation in Assam, currently.

The three hydropower projects under implementation in Central sector in Arunachal Pradesh included 2000 MW Subansiri Lower, 600 MW Kameng and 110 MW Pare. While survey and investigation is going on in three others including 1400 MW Tawang I and II, 3000 MW Dibang.
