GUWAHATI, March 31 - The Kamrup (Metro) district administration on Tuesday started the door-to-door distribution of free rations among economically weaker section of the society. Today, the drive covered 754 families in Guwahati revenue circle and 2,542 families in Dispur revenue circle.
Meanwhile, Food and Civil Supply Minister Phani Bhushan Choudhury today directed the officials concerned to ensure proper rates of essential commodities in the markets of Guwahati.
He also asked the district administration to take strict action against illegal storage of food products in this period of crisis.
