DOOMDOOMA, Oct 12 - Members of Doomdooma Mahila Samiti strongly protested the killing of Service Manager of Dadara branch of SBI Junu Sharma by miscreants on Tuesday evening at Agyathuri in Guwahati.
Members of the Samiti lit candles before the statue of Mahatma Gandhi located in the heart of Doomdooma town and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul of the woman bank official.
The women�s body demanded immediate arrest of those involved in this dastardly killing and awarding of exemplary punishment to the culprits.
Imran Khan arrested: Imran Khan, the prime accused in the recent Borhapjan incident, and who was absconding, was arrested from Margherita on Wednesday night.
It may be recalled that group clashes took place at Borhapjan area last month following an inflammatory facebook post against Lord Ram by a youth from Borhapjan. Both the local police and civil administration had to toil hard to bring the situation under control.
Again during the time of Muharram, another youth from Borhapjan named Imran Khan(30) was reportedly trying to instigate a particular religious group against the other. But instead of being provoked, the people of that particular religious group filed a public FIR against Imran at Doomdooma PS.
Police subsequently registered a case No 274/18 under Section 120(B)/121/109/153(A))/295(A)/153(B) of IPC and had been searching for Imran. On coming to know that Imran was taking shelter in a relative�s house at Margherita, police nabbed him.
However, Imran has refuted all the allegations levelled against him. He claimed to have been a victim of a conspiracy.
