DOOMDOOMA, Dec 24 - Himanshu Sonowal of Rupai Siding beat Dipanjyoti Sonowal of Dangari 15-9, 15-12 to lift the singles title of the Open Badminton Tournament organised by Doomdooma Sports Association (DSA) at Doomdooma Town Field.
In the doubles category, Bijan Dutta and Tasiful Haque of Tinsukia defeated Manna Hazarika and Babrang Bring of Tezu, Arunachal Pradesh 16-2, 21-16, 21-16 to lift the title. The final matches of both the categories were played on Sunday night.�
Journalists Arjun Baruah, Anuj Kalita, DSA president Dhiraj Gohain, AASU leaders Uttam Baruah and Pratim Neog, DSA badminton secretary Mandeep Singh Verma gave away the prizes at the end of the matches. DSA secretary Rana Sonar anchored the proceedings of the prize distribution ceremony.
