DoNER clears fund to upgrade Tripura hospital

NEW DELHI, June 14 � Decks have been cleared for full upgrade and modernisation of the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital for Women and Children in Tripura at an estimated cost of Rs 38 crore.

Announcing clearance of the project, DoNER Minister Bijoy Krishna Handique said the amount was sanctioned under Social and Infrastructure Development Fund (SIDF) according to 2008-2009 Budget Speech for upgrade and modernisation of the hospital.

The Government of Tripura submitted DPR of the project at a cost of Rs 42.4 crore, which was examined by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in consultation with DGHS, who gave their �technically no objection� and techno-economical clearance to the project.
