GUWAHATI, Feb 6 - Students of Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Birkuchi have donated Rs 18,000 to Mother�s Old Age Home here as a contribution towards maintenance of the elderly people staying at the shelter home.
The cheque was handed over to the management of the old age home at the annual day function of the school celebrated at the District Library on Tuesday, said a statement.
The statement added that the school has taken the initiative to sensitise the younger generation towards the elderly members of society.
The annual day function was attended by educationist Dr Kulendu Pathak and psychiatrist Dr Jayanta Das.
