AIZAWL, March 8 - Of the 45 cases of domestic incident report in Mizoram in the past three years, 42 were disposed of by courts, Dr Thanpuii, vice president of the Mizo Hmeichhe Insuihkhawm Pawl said here today.
Addressing a function on the occasion of the International Women�s Day, Thanpuii said of the other cases, like 55 claims of maintenance, eight rape cases and 130 domestic violence cases in the same period, 73 cases were referred to the women cells in the police stations. Thanpuii said while there were 41,392 men in government jobs, there were only 18,220 women government employees (30.56 per cent). In the Police force, there were only 568 women (5.74 per cent) in Mizoram. � PTI
