Documents related to youth empowerment scheme distributed among beneficiaries
SIVASAGAR, Feb 15 - The Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment Yojana (SVAYEM) was launched in Sivasagar district on Thursday at a function held in Sivasagar Natya Mandir.
Inaugurating the scheme, Kushal Duwori, MLA of Thowra LAC distributed loan papers to 520 out of a total 2,219 beneficiaries under the scheme.
In his speech, he said the state government had released Rs 300 crore for the scheme and the youths should avail the opportunity to build a fortune out of a humble beginning with the help of the loan.
The beneficiaries will get 20 per cent money from the government, 55 per cent from the bank and the rest 25 per cent will have to be borne by themselves.
The function was also attended by Dr S Laksmanan, Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar, Nawab Al Azhar Ali, DDC, Sivasagar, Gautam Das, GM, District Industry Department, B Das, Lead Bank Manager, Dhrubajyoti Mout, president of Zila Parishad, Surovi Rajkumari, president of district BJP, Bhaben Mohan, Prabin Konwar and Dipak Bora.
TEZPUR: Altogether, 727 beneficiaries under Sonitpur district received loan sanction letters under the Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment Yojana at a ceremonial distribution ceremony held at the District Library auditorium here on Thursday.
The programme, which was organised by the District Industries and Commerce Centre in association with Sonitpur district administration, was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner KK Sarma. Chairman of Assam State Textbook Production and Publication Corporation Limited, Rajen Borthakur, Vice Chairman of AMTRON, Ritubaran Sarmah, Lead District Manager, PK Das, Chief Manager, State Bank of India, JS Dhar, ZP member Swapnajyoti Bania, other senior bank officials and DICC members were present in the meeting.
The General Manager of DICC, Ranjan Kumar Bhattacharyya explained the objectives of the meeting and presented details about the scheme.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman of Assam State Textbook Production and Publication Corporation Limited, Rajen Borthakur said the scheme will go a long way in boosting the economic condition of the people and asked all the beneficiaries to make good use of the money received under the scheme.
He also asked the DICC and concerned bank officials to guide the beneficiaries to make the most of the scheme. Vice Chairman of AMTRON, Ritubaran Sarmah, LDM PK Das, Chief Manager of SBI, JS Dhar also spoke on the occasion.
Bongaigaon: Deputy Commissioner Adil Khan launched SVAYEM in the district on Thursday by distributing loan sanction letters among 302 youths under the scheme at a meeting held in this connection at Birjhora Public Library auditorium here.
Under this scheme, an unemployed youth can get a loan of Rs 1 lakh to start a business, and youths who have already started business can get a loan amount Rs 2 lakh from banks under the scheme.
It is not possible to provide employment to all the unemployed youths. Hence, the government has launched this financial scheme for them, said Bongaigaon Deputy Commissioner Adil Khan.
