GUWAHATI, March 6 - A Light That Refuses to Fade Out � a documentary on the life of social activist Aruna Mukherjee � has received the Jury�s Special Mention Award in the Heritage Short Film Competition at the Chalachitram Guwahati Film Festival, 2018.
The documentary, directed by television personality and director Bobbeeta Sharma, was shot over a period of two years capturing different shades of the life of Aruna Mukherjee and also her 100th birthday celebration.
Deeply moved by the plight of poor people, 101-year-old Aruna Mukherjee has been living a spirited life surviving only on black tea and thin arrowroot biscuits since 1947 at Rehabari here. Mukherjee�s journey has been marked by her refusal to accept age as a deterrent for living life to the fullest. In fact, she obtained a degree in singing when she was in her late 60s.
