GAURIPUR, Jan 23 - Dr Banti Kakati, a lady doctor of Gauripur Nursing Home was aassaulted by a group of attendants following the death of a pregnant woman, Sajina Begum on Monday.
It is reported that the close relatives of Sajina Begum of Balajan area near here brought her for admission to the nursing home for delivery, but Dr Kakati, a gynaecologist failed to attend to her, as she arrived late. Unfortunately, the patient died in the meantime.
The attendants of the patient became furious and attacked Dr Kakati, who got seriously injured and was sent to Bongaigaon for treatment. The nursing home authorities lodged an FIR at Gauripur PS and the police have picked up two youths for interrogation.
