GUWAHATI, June 2 - President of Sadou Asom Kavi Sanmilan, Anis-uz-Zaman, felicitated the State�s seniormost functioning editor DN Chakravartty at his residence today for his distinguished services as a writer, thinker and journalist for the cause of intellectual and social advancement of the people of the State.
The felicitation was actually offered on May 29 at the open session of the 28th session of the Kavi Sanmilan held at Kahikuchi, Azara. As Chakravartty was unable to attend the meet, he was felicitated today.
It also conferred the title �Kavyaratna� on noted poet Rabindra Bora in recognition of his stellar contribution towards the promotion of Assamese poetry.
The function, which was presided over by Anis-uz-Zaman, was addressed among others by Dr Lakshmi Nandan Bora and Dr Dhrubajyoti Borah. Kula Saikia and Jyoti Khataniar were also felicitated on the occasion.
The editors who were felicitated included PG Baruah of The Assam Tribune, Radhika Mohan Bhagawati of Dainik Asam and Prasanta Rajguru of Amar Asom.
